Where the idea was born
The Kakad Brothers’ Charitable Trust has been set up by Dr Jitendra Kakad, Sudhir Kakad and Rashmi Kakad.
These three brothers were born and brought up in Uganda, and have lived and studied in India and London, where they have seen firsthand the struggles and hardship communities and individuals can face.
All three of them were extremely lucky that they had the means to pursue a University education, which was in those days out of reach for many. As part of this charity they would like to offer that same opportunity to others, providing them with a platform from which they can advance and shape their own lives successfully.
They have also been influenced and inspired throughout their lives by those around them such as Saujimama, Haribhai Somani and of course their parents, Ba and Bapuji. All of whom played an important and influential role in their childhood and adult years, providing both much needed support, guidance and opportunities.
The Brothers have been shaped by their own personal journeys, and as a result have been inspired and motivated to set up this charity.
With this theme in mind the Kakad Brothers’ Charitable Trust has been established ‘‘ to empower individuals and communities through education, health and social wellbeing”
